The Hittite Empire is my main object of interest at the moment and I'm currently reading some books on them by Archibald Sayce and other early writers. I do know that Trevor Bryce is considered the 'leading authority' on Hittite culture as of late, but I'm wondering if that's because he's provided readers with a more digestible history of the Hittites or because it has more up-to-date information. If anyone has read any of the earlier writer's histories, and Bryce's, a summaried comparison would be appreciated. Thanks.
