Today the next round of the qualifiying matches is held.

Iceland will host Liechtenstein. Everything else but a lousy tie will be a surprise. Got tickets and will watch this highlight of european football.

Germany vs. San Marino, another first-class match.
Denmark will face Sweden, hope our jute friends will do it.

Next match-day is next wednesday.

Go Latvia, though we don't have many chances to win against powerhouse like Spain.

Spain isn't the powerhouse it used to be, especially with injuries to key players.

Ok, like i supposed this morning, the match Iceland- Liechtenstein ended with a draw. 1- 1 . It was the suspected match between misery and calamity.
The best thing was, that it wasn't allowed to smoke during the match. Not for the players, but for the audience.

The forthcoming Champion Germany defeated San Marino with 6- 0.
And Denmark trail against Sweden with 2 - 3 at the moment and 25 minutes to go.

Defeating a team of ametuers like San Marino does not necassarily mean that Germany is a forthcoming championWink

You meant a team of diletantes like the turkish ?

It is clear that I did not mean any team. What I meants only is that defeating San Marino is no big dealBig%20smile

For tonights EQ game Estonia vs England, I predict 2:1 Estonian victory.
England is rather lucky since Estonian player of the year is suspended for this game.

An owl was the reason for an interruption of the ec qualifying match between Finnland and Belgium (2:0).
After a break of three minutes, the match was continued.
Probably a greek agent ?

After our convincing performance and great win against powerhouse Moldova, Greece is 5 points ahead of Bosnia, Norway and Turkey, which are fighting for second place.
Greece Euro champs 2008? Well, let's not be so optimistic... yet! Big%20smile

Ulrich you messed up the whole page, so instead of making fun of Greek owls, pay more attention on how you post!!

England made a good job by defeating Israel.
Germany did what they had to do with the walish team.
Italy and France ended in a draw like Sweden and Denmark did.

And while it was raining cats and dogs some friends and i watched the match Iceland vs. Spain in Reykjavik. We were in a high spirit til the 86. minute of the match, when the spanish team equalized.

A shame , a victory for the Icelandic team was possible and deserved.

England thrashing Hiddink's Russia was a big surprise for me.  Especially with Owen and Heskey, that's sooooo 20th century.  Who's next, now Heskey's hurt?  Shearer?  Maybe Lineker is still working out at home.  Now that is someone I wouldn't mind to see, again.

Germany did the way to EC 08, like Greece, Romania and the Czecks.

Meanwhile England might be getting WC of Rugby, it will be only viewer of the EC 08. Russia made a big step to Austria/Swiss.

Iceland offered the first victory for Liechtenstein in an official match ever. 0-3, a shame for the whole nordic world.

The Bravehearts however lost in Georgia, what a pitty.Cry

The last two qualifying matches are in November.

Typical, England are so bloody jammy, Scotland never have any luck.

Look at England's group, a bunch distinctly poor to mediocre teams and they still struggle, they would have been destroyed if they were in place of Scotland.

England have jammed and jammed, but with the constant mediocre displays, can they realistically expect to do well at the championships.?

na they did okay imo

Fatih Terim made a big mistake putting Yusuf in instead of Tuncay or another offesive player. They could easily score 2 more

first 30 mins there is no Turkish team on the field

31min untill the second goal there is no Norwegian Team in the field

after the second goal Turkey's tempo dropped.

i'm just being realistic that SINGLE game or performance isn't even close enough if they want to  succed in the EC

Sweden's display against the Spaniards were shameful. Two of the goals were bad mistakes. :(

I feel sorry for the Scots and Norwegians, I would really have liked to have seen them in the cup. And the English, but of egocentric reason - we never loose to the English.

I've been pleased with Spain's play thus far. Their selection went through some rough patches last year, and fizzled out during the end of the world cup. Leading their group should give them the confidence and momentum to continue their good play and fortune.

Ok Iceland missed the finals, but on sunday the draw of the wc 2010 european qualifying matches will be held.
Hope Iceland will face England - 6 definite Points. Netherlands another 6 points, so we will do the way to South-Africa.

Meanwhile the Germans are on their way the European throne. No other team will be a serious opponent.

Remember 1996---

and 1967...

The Icelandic male football team was badly defeated by Denmark, 3-0, in Copenhagen’s Parken stadium yesterday. Iceland has not beaten Denmark in Parken since 1967.

Denmark attacked aggressively throughout the game and Iceland did not have many chances to score. Iceland had two opportunities towards the end of the game, but blew them both, Morgunbladid reports.

Iceland’s star footballer and former captain of the Icelandic team, Eidur Smαri Gudjohnsen, who plays with Barcelona, recently decided to leave the national team due to “personal reasons.”

The game between Iceland and Denmark in 1967 has become legendary. Iceland beat Denmark 14-2 with Hermann Gunnarsson and Helgi Nϊmason as the main goal scorers.

Poland can be a tough opponent, at least against Germany. then we have the most obvious, Italy, and well the Czechs are not to be underestimated, same goes for the Croats.

Czech, Croats can put up a good fight against Germans as Temujin said and Italy, Spain, France will be strong as usual. Germany seems to be the strongest at the moment but we will see.
concerning Poland it would be great to through first stage but our only star is our coach - Leo BeenhakkerClap. Maybe He can produce some miracle.

i don't see Spain and France very strong at the moment, Ok, France is not bad and not easy to beat but they have too many problems. more surprising is the bad situation of the Netherlands, given their players they should be a top candidate. also Romania is quite strong but we've beaten them before in a friendly and quite decisively.

Spain have great players but they somehow don't play that well in the tournaments. I don't rate their coach either but maybe this tournament will be turning point for them.
