After long discussions, AE's staff has decided with a majority vote to close the “Non-English” Board.

As Imperator Invictus has already explained in his initial announcement, it was felt that the forum is no longer contributing to the aims of AE and its members to provide a truly international history forum. It was thought that after the efforts of AE's staff and members to prevent the frequent out-breaks of nationalist flame-wars, that had plagued the forum for some time, had shown success, we could further help to integrate AE's members into one multi-national community by abolishing the unnecessary division into national groupings that the “Non-English” Forum creates.

Although we are certain that the vast majority of discussions in this forum have been informative and civilized, there have been instances when the Forum has been abused for spreading nationalist propaganda, something that has proved difficult to prevent.

The closure of the “Non-English” Board naturally does not prevent AE's members from discussing country or region specific problems, it will only ask you to do so in our chosen common language, English.

The Forum will be closed in 48 hours for all new posts, but will remain a “read-only” forum for the next three months for reference purposes.

Thanks to all that have contributed in the past and thanks to our intrepid and multi-lingual moderators mixcoatl, kotumeyil and the Diplomat who in the last years had the sometimes difficult task to moderate the forum.
