What is the correct version of Saladin�s name?

Funny how the letters "hattin" seem to have become part of his name! Just whom can explain it?

Is not Ibn Ayoub the same as Ben Ayoub or even Din Ayoubi? Hebrew and Arabic seem to me, at least, to be very similar. Thus these prefixes mean "Son of .....", etc.

And the name "Yousef" must, in the same light become Joseph!

Pre-Islamic Arabs did have the concept of heaven and hell (although not quite the same as in latter periods) like all Semitic peoples. Just as Islam didn't introduce Allah to the Muslims (''El/Allah/Ha'El/YHWH" was the god of the Proto-Semitic people even), it didn't introduce heaven or hell.
