What lead to this "performance" of magyar nomads?

In 700 are listed in the Korean chronicles as primitive nomads who robbed the North Korea and eastern China

In 896, seven Magyar tribes and three Khazar tribes Turks, fugitive from the Asian steppes by the Pechenegs, settling in Pannonia (then inhabited by Slavs, Vlachs, Avars, Germans), total 225,000 nomads under the leadership of Arpad. Their first concern after establishing Pannonia was robbery (obviously). Their bloody raids were conducted throughout Europe reaching Spain until Otto I the Great humiliated in Lechfeld  955.

-Saint Stephen (997 - 1038) Hungarian tribes unifies and makes them Christians.
