Here's the reason for my asking the question: I was impressed by the desire for knowledge by this leader (in this case it just happened to be a Muslim caliph) and the premium he put on books. The leadership in my country at the moment has very little need for books, and as a result young people read very little. If you think ignorance is bliss, think again when you have to live among such people.Anyway, thanks to all for joining in the discussion. Any further info on the event is appreciated.
