Given my avatar and signature there's no need to spell out my position on the Discworld (it should be the librarian's office in Unseeen University of course, but Lancre is good for holidays as long as you keep in with Nanny Ogg, and there may be times when my position tends to the horizontal at the Mended Drum).

I wait for responses with eagerness.

Pratchett is brilliant. His observations of society and way to write about it is nothing short of genious. So yes, I like the Discworld series.

Making Money, the new one, has some relevance to the current US financial crisis.

Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg are both based on the sort of working class woman who was a common sight in Lancashire in the 1960s - my gran was very close in character to both of them!  (And yes, she could be scary!)
I'm more like Magrat.
