I'm very interested in any info.  How much?  Whats involved, degree of difficulty in using etc.?
I am experiencing an extreme problem with my left wrist.  It seems that aside from having broken it twice in the past year without knowing it, most of the cart. is gone.  The wrist structure has collapsed and is now making bone on bone contact with my forearm.  Needless to say, it's painful as hell and typing is becoming a test of my ability to withstand pain.
Does anyone use it, or know anything about this type software?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  I'm anticipating surgery as soon as school ends and I expect not to be able to use that hand for some time.  Though classes are out till fall I still have curriculum proposals, grants and a ton of other things [not to mention AE] that need to be done and most of it time sensitive.  If speech recog. software is everything I've heard, this might be a solution.

Speech recognitions software is becoming increasingly more effective in interpreting human speech. A few years ago I used a piece of software which, if I recall, was called Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  It took a while for the program to recognise your speech properly, but once you got it going it was actually quite good. Every time you composed a document you'd have to go through and edit it a little by hand to fix up misinterpreted words that it just wouldn't accept, but it was generally good. Unfortunately I took a break and, being younger, my voice had changed and I needed to teach it all again and instead gave up.

Considering now I'm beginning to have some serious wrist problems myself I'm again looking at it. If you have a bit of time to set aside to 'teach' the program to recognise your speech then I'd recommend it. This may take a period of weeks, depending on how much time you spend reading to it.
