How plausible is the idea of sending a squad to rescue one soldier, on the early stages of the operation anyways, just on the account of the sole survivor policy.

Wasnt the operation's success still on a bit on the edge of the knife. Wouldnt the allied command need every soldier they could muster for securing the beach head?

(I have the movie. The fighting is pretty good, but the movie itself is sort of odd.)
