The neo-conservatives thought it would be a quick win.

Poor, nave even, planning.

Poor intelligence into the political and cultural environment.

Unwise decision to dismantle the political and military infrastructure.

Not considering the opening of Iraqs borders.

By going into Iraq, we have strengthened Irans position and given terrorists a base in Iraq. Even the CIA admits global terrorism has increased since 2003.

But I believe in the we broke it, we fix it viewpoint. The question is, is it too broke to fix now?

I think you can add...

A President with a sense of self destiny.  This sense of destiny is then strenghthened by the terrorist attacks on 9-11.

The Iraq War was an illegal war. The UN was against the war and yet Bush still declare war. No one stopped Bush... why? Well, America was just too strong (both politically and militarity) a country for one to face against. Thus they just go with the USA exapt for countries like France and Russia.

i beileve that the americans must make a change of policy regarding there military strategy in iraq. weither or not the war was justified the situation is this:

curdish. shunii movements some of them related to el qaida. and the prominent shii forces under the comand of sadr all fighting each other and the americans for dominance in the war torn country. trapping civilians in the crossfire.
this whole situation is by my opiniaon largely the americans fault.
as they faought to protect the oil reserves and el qauida resisatnace milias. but the did not dactivively defend the iraqi population
the normal iraqis finding themseves between the hammer and the frying pan were forced to join local factions for protection. mainly sadr's shii iranian influenced forces.
the americans must now try to defend the order, lives and possesions of all iraqis' less the population be driven to arm themselves and join the armed factions. some of them influenced by forgein powers.
the americans are in a big mess now. but the only solution is to restore order and safety to iraq. ne the cost what it may.

it went wrong by invading it. if the goal was just oil, we should just devided the country to begin with under the ethnic lines. the kurdish part would have been stable providing nice quantaties of oil.
