You are right, he was half Serbian, but proud to be Serbian.

Well Soloviev its sound weird to hear such things from a Serb...we both have other neighbors who have this "style"...you know...
Of course he must had a sympathy to Serbs as all Greeks had and have, the fact that his mother was a Serb was an extra reason to like Serbs.
I don't know if he ever mentioned his Serbian origins from his mother's side which are known but he is the last man I expected to doubt for his Greekness...
Its like saying that Ivan the horrible was proud to be Greek because his grandmother was a Greek(Sophia Palaiologos).

Patrinos, don't get me wrong. There is no doubt that he was Greek. There are only some sources where he refered to his Serbian mother. The history of Greek-Serb friendship has a very long tradition and the example of the last Byzantine emperor is a good one. I always vote for GreeceThumbs%20Up Cheers!

p.s. Long live Greek-Serb friendship, brotherhood, and unity Wink

And Anton "you" should forgive but you shouldn't forget...otherwise you will make the same mistakes again.

Well, the proverb actually says "remind" not "remember".

Fellow Greek brothers, I have a question for you. How is the topic of Βασιλευς καί αύτοκράτωρ Σερβίας καί ΄Ρωμανίας and the empire of that time regarded in Greek history? I find this interesting and would like to hear your opinion.

p.s.  If you are interested in law and legal change, try this link and see how the Greek and Byzantine law left its influence on that of the Serbs - http://ssrn.com/abstract=953277
