Now lets say we ignore all the factors that went against the expedition, give Alcibiades more knowledge of the terrain and people than he had historically, and enough men to finish the job. The Athenian also do a better job diplomatically.
 
So what are the results and effects. How would it change Athens position vis-via the other Greeks. How would Persian react to such a dominant Athens, would they interfere as they did infact against Sparta after the Corinthian War? How would this effect Alexander and an ambitious city in Italy, called Rome.
