I have been trying and mostly failing to find out more about japanese archery. Did they use any other types of bow aside form the Assymetrical Yumi ? What poundage on avergae did a yumi have? How is the bow drawn?

 Thanks ,

Before the Yumi I think they barrowed chinese type designs of bows which lead to the yumi. Even before then the Jomon and Yayoi Bows which are real old. I'd look up kyudo sites. The yumi hasnt really changed since it was perfected 5 or 6 hundred years ago. Draw strength usually depends on age and sex of the archerer up to around 45-50 pounds.
