I heard a funny comment recently about Jimmy Carter, who I consider to be America's most disastrous failure of a President.
"Jimmy Carter was America's first female President"
No offense to females here.

Carter may have had a vagina, but that wasnt enough to elevate himn to woman status.

Carter may have been a woman, but as far as I know, he is more literate than the current US president....just two more years....

Personally, I don't like Ecevit at all. He has not been succesful in improving the economy or Turkey's human rights record (he doesn't even care about human rights) - He is a national socialist.

I have to disagree, he may have made some mistakes, but he made crucial economic and democratic reforms.

Ciller was terrible - using religion again. What was worse is she had a great oppertunity to make Turkey look good - an open-minded looking well dressed female leader. But she ruined it,..

Even "Kemalists" have certain similar viewpoints as Islamofascists. The fear and bias against Israel and the West for example.

Actually I'm not, although I don't trust him - he is a previous Islamist after all. But I have to admit that AKP has done a lot of things, improving the economy, infrastructure, the democratization process etc.. it's undeniable. Let's see if these reforms will continue after the elections in 2007. Turkey's number 1 objective should be a sustained economic growth of about 6% a year.

Our previous government failed, because it was a coalition of MHP (Grey Wolves), DSP (National Left) and ANAP (Capitalists).
I can post a few of AKP's social reforms, if you really want.

Hi... I come from distant country in the Eastern Europe called Poland... I think that the worst ruler of our homeland was a king who was born in Germany... The person who I want to mention is August the Third (1733-1763)...

taken from America the Book...
"Warren G. Harding: Our Worst President by Stephen Colbert"
Historian sdeebate feverishly over who is the best presidnet in American history. However, tehre is little diisagreement over who was the worst. His name was WArren G. Harding (1921-1923), and he sucked.
The reasons why he sucked are many and, to be truthful, have been widely catalouged in the annals of presidential history. So, with your indulgence, I'd like to focus instead on the intensity of his sucking. Warren G. Harding was a worthless pice of s**t. F**k him. His presidency was a taint, not just in the sense of a "stain on the office," but literally a taint - the anatomical area between the a**s and the t*******s.
I hate Warren G. Harding

The problem is Alva wasn't dutch, it was because of his way of leadership that the dutch people started a revolution.
You probably didn't read my first message. I had three options.
1)Alva
2)Hitler, but he also wasn't dutch
3)The gouvernement? of today
Do you have suggestions?
Oh, and about the birds, they are magnificent creatures, do you agree?
How did you know arend is dutch for eagle?

I am Greek so I will go for two periods of Greek History. In Byzantine times probably someone like Empress Theodora (despite having de jure no real powers - although I think she and Justinian swore an oath to rule together which was largely ceremonial), her constant wranglings and intrigue with regards to Belisarius seriously hindered not only the invasion of North Africa and recapture of the Italian peninsula, but also the consolidatory period, convincing her husband to place 5 Generals in charge of mopping up resistance across the Italian peninsula. Without her intrigues, things could have been very different.
