Earliest Mayan Writing Found in Guatemala

The earliest example of Mayan writing have been found in the Peten jungle of northern Guatemala. Testings have concluded them to be dated from between 200 BC and 300 BC and suggests that the Mayans had an advanced writing system earlier than originally believed.
