Bones, by Elaine Dewar. Carroll & Graff.  She is an investigative reporter, not an archaeologist.

"She examines the rivalries, political agendas, gossip, turf wars, threats, thefts and outright lies among researchers that still cripple honest investigation of American antiquity".  Balt. Sun.

She's also the first journalist I know of to expose the fact that over 90% of the archaeological surveys produced under the laws in the US have never been peer reviewed or published.

"Arguing with someone who hates you or your ideas, is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what move you make, your opponent will walk all over the board and scramble the pieces".

The Borgias, by Michael Mallett. Bought it a few weeks ago before watching the series of the same name.

What a handsome figure of a dragon. No wonder I fall madly in love with the Alani Dragon now, the avatar, it's a gorgeous dragon picture.

I am slowly finishing The Decipherment of Linear B, by John Chadwick.  I think it has been out of print for decades.  In either case, I found it in a used book store (the best kind of book store).

Nothing now but I have a book about the Armenian genocide I will read but I cannot recall the title right now. I want to get Michael Savages' new fictional novel titled "Abuse of power" but it won't be out for a few weeks. Once it is out it will be almost impossible to get a copy for months.

The Nicomachean Ethics, by Aristotle. This has to be one of the easiest philosophers to read. I wish more philosophers had written their works so clear. He is nearly at the top of my favourites.

I'm half way through "The Rise and Fall of Egypt" by Toby Wilkinson. He gives us a good overview of Egypt from Narmer to Cleopatra.

Toby Wilkinson ignores the myths and aims to demystify his subject. He focuses on kingship and power, government, development of religion, administration, politics, military campaigns, and finally the decay of Egypt.

I'm glad to see another fan of Aristotle hereSmile. He is my all time favorite philosopher, and the one I have read for longest time.

I'm 50 pages into  "Mary Magdalene" by Bruce Chilton, but so far I'm disappointed, because I don't encounter anything new.

I hope they are both good reads! He is something!

I meant the above response to refer to that Conservative NY Jew who does radio out of SF, CA! LOL

He can sometimes be quite "SAVAGE!"

I read all of the time, and just finished a William F. Buckley novel, entitled "Henri Tod"! A good read.
