I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but if you have an interest in the Sengoku Jidai (the time period in history when Shogun: Total War is set), you might be interested in joining this:

It's an internet based strategy game, a cross between the strategic portion of STW and the boardgame "Diplomacy". We've strived to make the game as accurate as possible - the game has been designed explicitly with that in mind, and many of the players are Japanese history enthusiasts.

You'll have to register to join in, but please drop by if you're interested.
