Topic: A Prediction, Sort of........... Posted: 14-Mar-2016 at 16:09 |
I've been watching the absurdity of the GOP debates. Outrageous certainly, but may also be an interesting strat.
Stir everyone up, the primaries never bring out the bulk of the voters, everyone knows that.
Trump will go into the convention with a majority of the delegates. The party won't allow that. Trump knows that. The other candidates join to block him, and steer the nomination to Romney, the only Rep. that would have a chance vs Clinton or Sanders. Betcha!

It's as good as any at this point...but the brokered convention will destroy the traditional Republic base hence party. Thereby enhancing the potential of the 'she bitch from Cicero'.
Cruz is hated amongst the establishment, alleged conservative, Washington elitists...and Romney like Trump remains a RHINO.
Only thing worse than Trump is the Obama clone Hillary.
All in all a totally f**ked up prospect either way.

Again the Phrase "evil of 2 lessers" comes to mind.
I'm fairly sure CV knows where I stand politically. And where we......contrast on some issues, I'm not that far off his views, he just has more fun with it than I want to.
I see some things differently, Hillary knows the game, she was there once before. I actually think she's possibly the best pick out of the field.
Sanders scares me a little, he's a ? in many ways. At least Clinton would be more predictable.
You missed my point, Trump knows he has no chance in a general election, I don't think he ever intended to go that far. A brokered convention might save the GOP.
Trump has stirred up a lot of folks who would normally not be involved in politics. Trump bows out and they Draft Romney, whose much more acceptable to many voters. In his latest press conference he was looking very "presidential".
Trump could not only fracture the GOP, he could disrupt the entire process, and that's very scary.

nah... I got the point...the danger is more clone like socialism and failed alinsky politics which continue to depress the minorities... eradicate civil liberties...
(unless one is of like mind and falls to the knee to worship the fascist ideology of the left-which is much more vile than right)
...not the bull shit rhetoric and demagoguery of a Trump.
I wouldn't trust that beech with my dead sainted mother...memorial day flowers... let alone the highest job in the land.
But ole Red is right for you new lads..we generally can deal with it...our friendship has never been dependent on our individual politics.
And given this environment I am often minded of the following:
''The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.''

Or even better:
''Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government.''

It's not over yet. And while hell with get ice cream before I vote for the she wolf....I'm reluctant to support Trump. I am also reluctant to support a brokered vs. contested R convention.
And most importantly I must vote..because to not do so out of pique
or anger is stupid... not to mention possibly supporting the Cicero kid viz my absence.
Voting is my voice... to not exercise it... is to not do my duty... is cowardly..and is no excuse if the opposition wins.

Alas none of the f**kers are soldiers...tho that by nature isn't necessarily a qualifier...but it would make this old one feel better if they were.

What a choice!
A hard-bitten harpy of a professional political hack, named Hilary.. (the Hebrew stands no chance, surely)
Or,
Donald Trump.. dangerous ego-driven buffoon or cunningly disingenuous manipulator?
I laughed when I saw the Nazi-themed anti-Trump attack commercials..
Since I had earlier commented to a friend.. ..about how clearly effectively Trump had taken on board the Nazi campaign dirty-tricks kit..

He don't need..the money.
It's his ego. Salve his ego and he will walk.
Maybe...but then again..not in a contested convention if he's close. There he'll cut/might cut deals...tone down the bullshit; iow..to get some estab backing...just like anyone else has to get the nomination.
Or assuming he don't give a shit..and he doesn't...he mess's with the estab just for the hell of it...just to prove he can do it..and salve his ego. He don't cut deals.
Problem is that wont save the party from disintegration..total or partial remains to be seen. And a probable third party split with tea masters leaving the RP...nor fend off the wolf bitch. As he'll lose support from the base if he mod's to much and goes to the estab.
Foiking mess.
Reminds me of 1828...excepting dueling is outlawed.
Ted Cruz, even tho from my beloved Tejas, and whom certain policies he has I like.... is not contrary to his rhetoric, Ronald Reagan. Not even a shadow. And that job requires the 'flexibility' of a RR in conservatism...not extremism in conservatism.
Otoh, there have been worse campaigning in American history...and the aforementioned 1828 is the prime example.
