Hey, I've been looking the past hour or so for evidence of racism in ancient Greece, and all I found was a quote from Alexander the Great (that I can't find a citation for) where he describes how he's not racist, but implies most people are. That's it. I was wondering if anyone has any references or anything because I am extremely sick of debating someone who thinks Europeans created racism when slavery began. Tribalism is an innate mammal condition, not just human, but racism just feels like an off-shoot of tribalism; just provides simple and broad distinctions for people descended from different regions. I'm just shooting out thoughts here, not stating concrete beliefs. Thanks, I would appreciate any direction you can point me in.
Also, I found regional stereotyping (I could consider it racism) in Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus" but that's not really what I'm looking for.
