Disney was long suspected of having Nazi sympathies before the war (check out the stereotypical Jewish brush seller in the cartoon). During the 1940s he was a member of the anticommunist and antisemitic Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals. Other films made fun of African-Americans: the crows in Dumbo and the cartoon animals in Song of the South

Nick, I think you're reading too much into Disney. Cartoons were a medium that thrived on stereotypes, all kinds. You have to view them through the lens of their times, and not through that of 21st century political correctness.

Can you post a link to your sources for those statements?

If we stop to remember our own history, we refused Jews seeking to enter America when the fled the beginnings of the Holocaust.  Under those circumstances, it's hard to see how anyone could single out Walt Disney of all people as the quintessential American anti-Semite.

I learned a long time ago that those who go around looking for bigotry and racism always manage to find it.
