The OP is self-explanatory - short poems of any kind will be welcomed here.
I'll start with a short one from Khlebnikov:

Today I will go once again
Into life, into haggling, into market,
And lead the army of my songs
To duel against the market tide.

Death is near,
nearly here
or is it merely angst and fear?

Courage old man,
you still stand
in this quiet and rugged land.

No notes yet... from Death's sad band,
not yet... clutched by his icy hand.

Matsou Basho #120

Spring departing—
the birds cry out
and the eyes of the fish
are full of tears.

Matsuo Basho #69

This pervasive silence
Enhanced yet by cicadas simmering
Into the Temple Rocks dissipating

Autumn is passing by.

The hound the Beagle
is so regal
but leaves small tokens
when not housebroken.
"Arguing with someone who hates you or your ideas, is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what move you make, your opponent will walk all over the board and scramble the pieces".

Vladimir Mayakovsky:

I suddenly smeared the weekday map
splashing paint from a glass;
On a plate of aspic I revealed
the ocean's slanted cheek.
On the scales of a tin fish
I read the summons of new lips.
And you could you perform
a nocturne on a drainpipe flute?

Anna Akhmatova "Alexander by Thebes"

I think, the king was fierce, though young,
When he proclaimed, “You’ll level Thebes with ground.”
And the old chief perceived this city proud,
He’d seen in times that are in sagas sung.
Set all to fire! The king listed else
The towers, the gates, the temples – rich and thriving…
But sank in thoughts, and said with lighted face,
“You just provide the Bard Home’s surviving.”

Anna Akhmatova "Forgotten"

Forgotten? I’m not even wondered!
Forgotten was I hundred times,
And times, I’m in grave, were too hundred,
May be, my corps now there lies.
And Muse was too deafened and blinded,
Was rotting – a seed – in soils’ mesh,
To rise then to blue of the Highland
Like Phoenix from blackness of ash

The Prayer of One Blasphemer

I'm writing on a stolen time
On stolen time  I breath
On stolen time you didn't loan me
On stolen time I kiss
And for the every stolen moment
Accept my gratitude
For I did take so many more
That what by right I should.

Anna Akhmatova "The Call" from "The Middle Night Songs"

Which a sonata will you be
Hidden by me in – with a care?
How uneasily, for me
Will call you, utterly unfair
Because so close and so good
You were for me, tho’ for a moment…
Your dream – dissolving in a solvent,
Where death – just levy to the mute.

Emily Dickinson:

I never hear the word "escape"
Without a quicker blood,
A sudden expectation,
A flying attitude.

I never hear of prisons broad
By soldiers battered down,
But I tug childish at my bars, --
Only to fail again!

Like

Like being caught into a Storm
Which have no roof, nor walls
No warning and no signs
All reluctance is aside
Barriers are blown by far
Like a untamed hurricane
Like a timeless and primeval

Emily Dickinson:

Departed to the judgment,
A mighty afternoon;
Great clouds like ushers leaning,
Creation looking on.

The flesh surrendered, cancelled
The bodiless begun;
Two worlds, like audiences, disperse
And leave the soul alone.

Emily Dickinson:

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Rumi:

From the heart of the lovers,
Blood flows like a vast river.
Our body is the windmill and love, the water.
Without water the mill cannot turn.

Rumi:

THROUGH LOVE all that is bitter will sweet
Through Love all that is copper will be gold.
Through Love all dregs will turn to purest wine
Through Love all pain will turn to medicine.
Through Love the dead will all become alive.
Through Love the king will turn into a slave!

This one is probably not understandable to anyone who isn't Scots (hee-hee)

A lively young damsel named Menzies
Inquired: "Do you know what this thenzies?"
Her aunt, with a gasp,
Replied: "It's a wasp,
And you're holding the end where the stenzies."

For money you did what guns could not do.........

Defiance

Defiance is the last shadow of defense -
When all defenses fail
When all is in shambles, all is lost
Into complete derail.

Defiance is the last outcry
That no one will hear -
"Why don;t you shoot me in the eye
And get it over...dear!".

The Crystal Gazer

I shall gather myself into my self again,
I shall take my scattered selves and make them one.
I shall fuse them into a polished crystal ball
Where I can see the moon and the flashing sun.
I Shall sit like a sibyl, hour after hour intent.
Watching the future come and the present go -
And the little shifting pictures of people rushing
In tiny self-importance to and fro.

- Sara Teasdale
