Yes it's sad. Not the overall performance but the concept. Back to robotics? monkeys? Seems cold and personless. Lack of funds and initiative is now driving the train and I fear the only thing in the way of RDA will be that funded by the DOD.
And while important I don't want defense driving the science of space exploration.
thanks for your response.

I believe rational mind will retire this wonder of science! Will try to improvise here words that were spoken, after first and only flight of Buran(Storm) ,Russian space shuttle :"Why do we need spacecraft with weight over 60 tons that can put 40 tons useful payload in low earth's orbit? For those money we can put 120 tons of useful payloads.Buran finished in hangar after his first automated flight.Radiation makes space non hostile for us humans and until this is not solved, robotic devices will travel the space! Here are you are links: www.nasa.gov www.esa.int www.russianspaceweb.com www.energia.ru www.khrunichev.ru this will be enought until now Anyway SS help USA and the rest of world many technologies to be found and developed!International Space Station would have not been built so fast without it!

Mine Fire Threatens Physics Laboratory
|
Here is an up date on the mine fire. Two pumps have been restarted, but the one in lab may not be running, because the lab is full of foam and the people responding to the fire and turning on pumps, didn't enter the lab. At the time of this report, it is not known for sure where the fire started, nor what started it, nor if it is complete extinguished, but it appears to be extinguished. http://news.dnr.state.mn.us/index.php/2011/03/20/soudan-mine-fire-99-percent-out/ By the way, the kind of experiments done in this lab, makes an empty mine an excellent place for the experiments.
