While this is old news, it is particularly interesting when one wants to consider just where the Temple was located during this period.

I don't know if the structure would have anything to do the Jewish temple, because  "The wall is believed to have been built by the Canaanites".    The author makes a big deal about the size of the stones cut and used for the wall.  But aren't there plenty of megalithic sites?

The time-Life book "The Monument Builders" says  [Quote} The Druids, according  to Stukeley, were a sect of Phoenician priests who came to Britain during the time of Abraham.  Their homeland, he alleged, was Canoan, the same as Abraham's; and their religion venerated the same God as the Christians".  [/Quote]

Ron this predates not only the temple, but the concept of monotheism in general.  The conventional wisdom has this as being built by the Caananites.

I got a kick out of that.  He does make a big deal out of it doesn't he.  5 ton blocks are what the pyramids are mainly constructed of.  I could understand his enthusiasim if he was talking about something like Baalbeck.  There are stone blocks in that temple that go as much as 800 tons. [Would love to see what the moment is on a block that large, anyone here a math wiz?]

Ummm, Phoenician priests in Britain?  Whatever, their religion, or rather their religion at the time of this construction was before monotheism.  And was not an Abrahamic sect.
