We are just going into the 4th week and already all the predictions are in the preverbial toilet.  It's going to be a fun year.  Especially if your a dyed in the wool Football fan as I am.

The Saints got handled by..........The Chargers? The giants were embarrased, and decisecively beaten [even though Manning threw for 386 yds]  by the Tennesee Titans and the Eagles absolutely smothered Jacksonville.

In Philly, the news is Mike Vick.  No one can blame a coach for changing  his plans when he has someone like Vick.  He's the NFL's 2nd or 3rd ranked qb this week.  To quote Andy Reid "the man is playing out of his mind"
Also of note, for any of you who are Aussie rugby fans,  Sav Rocca is still the Eagles punter.  This is his 4th season and doesn't show any signs of letting up.  His hang time is incredible.  You could clean your spikes and still be downfield before the ball.

I haven't had time to see what the Seahawks are doing.  The Eagles won, Dallas lost,  for a Philly sports fan it doesn't get much better.Big smile

As an Eagles fan I have gotten used to "almost".  Almost great, almost made it to the Super Bowl.  Monday nights game with the Redskins was beyond words.  I believe this may be the first time that an Eagles team played up to their full potential, to a man.  45 to zip at the half?

The real test will be Sunday nite against the NY Giants.  If Vick and co. can maintain the intensity I saw Mon. There isn't a team in the league that can take them.  I know that's a big If.  However, Vick is on a tear.  What he did Mon. nite was a first for the NFL and the Eagles.  The scary part is Andy Reid said that he doesn't think Vick has hit his peak.
Some football fans have experienced the fun of having the team that everyone wants to beat but can't quite do it.  Eagles fans never have, until now. Final score, Eagles 59, Redskins 28, and that score makes it look like it was a closer game than it was.

Side note-  Dallas put a whuppin on NY, but that isn't the news.  The good news is Dallas fired their coach and promoted the Offensive Co. to coach.  At 2 and 7, they don't have much chance of reaching the playoffs, but they can salvage their dignity and build for next year.  Football needs a strong competitive Cowboys.  The NFC East is a tuff conference, but without the Cowboys in it for real, it's just not the same.
