With a few year the Afghan National Cricket Team has reached the limits that no one once thought they could.

After winning the Asian Cricket Counsil's Twenty/20 Cup and working it's way through the  World Cricket League Division 5 now they have Won the Division 4 as well and now just has to pass through the Division 3 and Qualifiers to make a place in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

All praise to Allah who devoted this special moment of Joy to a war torn country's people who are eagerly looking for a chance of Joy and Celeberation.

This year 2008 has been a good year for Afghan Sports as Mr. Rohullah Nikpai  (Teakwondo Bronze Medalist in Olympic games 2008) became the first ever Afghan to win a medal in Olympics.

My opinion is just an echo of Parnell's. Very well done! Congratulations to your country.

After the Iraqi football team good performances, whose to say that the US didn't have a very positive impact on both countries... sports?
I am a free donkey!

Thanks all...
@ Maharbbal
To be honest the only good point that could be very much visible after US occupation of Afghanistan is, the countries growth in the field of sport and making a name in the international arena.
About Iraq I can't say much but still "Winning Asian Cup is not something small".

So lets just hope for a better future, at least in the field of sports for both countries.

*** Afghanistan pull off shock of the tournament ***
That's what the latest headlines read when Afghanistan demolished the Irish team to a famous victory, the team who had won all of their group matches and the team who beat the likes of Pakistan in prev. world cup2007.

The Afghans are showing their true colors in the field of Cricket and wish they could qualify to World Cup 2011, so to see more of them.
