Yes, he's from the Island of blissfullness, where doping inspectors don't go to. Aren't you Americans shocked, that this little country is doping more professional than you?Smile

Whatever happens now this will be Britain's best Olympics since 1908. Sydney was the best since 1920 and Athens nearly as good.

I think we're finally cottoning on to this professionalism thing.

Bummer! The hotties from the US got beat in Softball by Japan. Alright, not the whole nation of Japan just the Japanese softball stud mommas.

May/Walsh got Beach Gold. Now it's up to a couple of Santa Barbarians to get it done for the men.

Hey, Turkey got more medals. Two bronze in Taekwondo I think. King of Kang your countyfolk took the gold.

That's it for today's editorial.

The US also won the gold in women's soccer with a 1-0 win over Brazil.

Also as expected the US men's 4X100 team dropped the baton. Wouldn't be an Olympics without them doing that.

Good to see Japan win as Softball is getting the axe by the Olympics as they don't see it an Olympic sport, some say due to US dominance. Team sports>individual sports in my opinion.

Who said the Turks and the Koreans are not related?  Didn't I say Nihat did a Taekwondo kick against the Czechs? Heeeeyaaaahp!

Anyway, Korea really needed that gold too.  I still haven't got over Archery.  Yeah, we got both team golds but couldn't deliver the golds in individuals.  I think Taekwondo is pretty much all we have left to keep us above Japan.

Speaking of Japan, I watched Korea vs Japan baseball game last night on NBC site.

Good site.  You can watch most of the games that your local coverages or your schedule made you miss.  Little slow, no commentary, it can be better viewing for some sports.

Back to baseball, Korea I believe is undefeated and seeded #1 in Semifinals tomorrow.   They beat U.S., Japan, Cuba, Taiwan, Canada....., pretty impressive.  But all that doesn't matter if they lose the semifinal against who?  Right, Japan again!  Ahhhh this reminds me of the World Baseball Classic couple of years back.  Korea beat Japan twice in the preliminary rounds and lost to them in the semi.   Ichiro said Korean baseball is thirty years behind Japanese baseball before that tournament.  I don't think he says that anymore, but we really need to win this one tomorrow.  U.S.A. vs Cuba is the other semi.

The Korean handball to lost Spain in the quarterfinal.  Damn you, Kaysaar!  Must you win everything this year? Big%20smile  So no Korea vs Iceland #2.  But Ulrich vs Kaysaar in the Semi.  Nothing against Kaysaar or Spain, but I gonna have to cheer for Iceland on this one.   I've shown enough love for Spain this summer.  Plus, how often do you get to cheer for iceland in a big game?  Plus, I'm a sucker for a underdog.

The Korean women's handball team lost to Norway in semi.  Spain also knocked us out of both of the hockey medals.  Alright , we are sorry about 2002, OK?  We are even now.  Stop following us where ever we go.Big%20smile

Hopefully all the countries that were to finish better than Korea have all passed us by now.  We got 10 golds.  Mission accomplished.  We are in 7th, mission in progress.  We are one ahead of Japan.  Mission too close to call.  But Judo is over and Taekwondo is still coming.  And perhaps baseball.

Didn't Afghanistan also won the first medal in Taekwondo.   Belated Congrats! Cheers
But the Great Britain might be the biggest surprise so far other than China.  I was expecting them around 5-10th right around where Korea is.   I guess there are more 'sitting down sports' in the olympics or they decided it's about time that they get up and run.Big%20smileCheers

Korea beat Japan in baseball semifinal!Cheers

They are gonna play Cuba for the gold.

I'm not gonna go on a rampage.  I just wanna say that in last two major tournaments, World Baseball Classic and this Olympics, we played them 5 times and beat them 4 times.  I'm not gonna say we are better.  That wouldn't be prudent.  All I'm saying is 4 out 5. Big%20smile

                                    GO, ICELAND GO!

Breaking News! Iceland Plays for Gold at Olympics

The Icelandic men’s handball team beat Spain 36-30 in the semi-finals in the Beijing Olympics at noon today. Iceland has now made it to the finals and will play France for the gold on Sunday.

Iceland has never made it this far in handball before. Although they’ve made it to the semi-finals in previous big tournaments, they have never brought home a medal.

Iceland was off for a fantastic start, leading 5-0 after only a few minutes after the game began. Spain tied 9-9, but then Iceland kicked back and re-achieved a difference of five goals. The first half finished 17-15 for Iceland, ruv.is reports.

Iceland remained the stronger team throughout the entire second half and constantly increased the score gap; at one point Iceland led with seven goals. Towards the end Spain put up an impressive fight, but Iceland managed to stay in the lead until the very end.

The Icelandic goalkeeper Björgvin Páll Gústavsson played brilliantly, deflecting 15 shots in total. The Icelandic defensive play was also impeccable. Gudjón Valur Sigurdsson and Logi Geirsson were the most successful shooters of the Icelandic team, scoring seven goals each.

The best player of the Spanish team was goalkeeper David Berrufet, who deflected 18 shots, five thereof from fast breaks.

The Icelandic handball team already has the silver secure, something which an Icelandic athlete has not achieved since Vilhjálmur Einarsson won the silver medal in triple jump at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, Australia.

In 1984, Bjarni Fridriksson won the bronze medal for Iceland in judo at the Olympics in Los Angeles, and in 2000, Vala Flosadóttir returned home with the bronze after placing third in pole vault at the Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

But no Icelandic athlete has ever won the gold at the Olympics.
