I am writing it in the first person but for now I am attempting to fictionalize the history and editing it at the same time. I gave myself a break from it was three weeks but in a week I will get back on track. The main focus is Constantine XI and his struggle to save the city. I am not out to make the Turks look evil so I have looked at some Turkish sources as well. In many ways I really admire Mehmed the Conqueror as man who could be fair and just but at the same time a tyrant. I could say the same about Alexander the Great which Mehmed likened himself as. I wonder if most conquerors have a split personality. It is a lot of work and I can see why it takes some authors years to write a book, unlike Steven King-LOL
