to all ::::::::::::::::::::::::;

i am offering this "what's a name" topic to discuss our names. this may be our real names or our computer names.

i am vladimr budney.

vladimr is also volodymyr, vladzomierz, waldomar, wladomar, baldomar, sheikhsaleem, fredrich, and a few more.
it is a combinbation of 'leader' and 'peace'; it may mean "peaceful leader", or "leader of peace".
it is a common name among slavic peoples and other peoples who have been in contact with slavs.

budney is a surname from the ancient scythian (barbarian) tribe of budene. but also the budene were related to others, the city of bythinia for example. the bythinians were a hellinized thracian city. similarieties among both people are; the men prefered to wear black and one bright color, their distinct weapon was the cross bow, the fought as both foot and horse, they never became a strong political power, they did not remain as a seperate identity beyond very ancient history, their scattered remains have produced very many variations of their original name.

i do not use a special computer name, "vladzo2" is just a variation on the short form of vladzomierz.

please do join in with your own names.

vlad
