The other night I was watching this program and found myself ingrossed in it. Basically it was about 20 moments over the last say 30 years that have rocked Irish sport.
It included all the well known shockers and emotional roller-coasters like the disapperance of the Champion Racehourse Shergar, believed to the be the work of the IRA, the vicous spear-tackle on Brian O'Driscoll durning the Lions match with New Zealand in 2005, The Siapan fiasco which Roy Keane sent home before the last World Cup campaign, the disgracful Combat-18 lead rioting at the 1995 " Friendly" between England and Ireland resulting in the game being abandoned 20 minutes in, and the violence of last years GAA/NFL International rules games that saw the competition being cancelled this year.
So I was curious about what events have shook your country's sports? What events caused uproar and split opinions country-wide? What events caused anger, tears, shock or just confusion?
