Topic: Your Top 5 Prettiest Aircraft Posted: 09-Jun-2007 at 11:24 |
What's your top 5 prettiest jet aircraft, military or civilian?
Mine:
1. SR-71 Blackbird
2. Concorde supersonic jetliner
3. XB-70 Valkyrie: Only two prototypes were ever
built before the program was cancelled. Both the Franco-British
Concorde and the Soviet Concordski look suspiciously like this
plane. Its maiden flight was in 1964.
4. F-22 Raptor
5. Boeing 787
----------------------------------------------
SR-71 Blackbird, Darth Vader would approve.
Air France Concorde, very posh.
XB-70 Valkyrie
Three Raptors, one sunset. Very sexy!
Boeing 787, look's like an artist rendition, but still very pretty.

Is the Raptor image, and the Concorde one too, a digital rendition? Anyway, here's my top 5...I'll probably have left some out... (No particular order, and I've tried not to include any of yours) 1) Supermarine Spitfire 2) B2 Stealth 3) Sukhoi Su-27 "Flanker" 4) Lear Jet (All types) 5) SR-71 Blackbird And I just thought I'd mention and include the cutest aircrafts of all time: - Messerschmidt Me163 - Red Arrow Gnats - Knights -

Come to think of it, the Raptor one might be. But that of the Concorde is probably real.

Strange, but I don't remember the Spitfire as being a jet aircraft? Just shows how much I know about propeller driven fighters with piston engines from WWII!

Lol, I didn't think anyone would go all the way back to the Stone Age to fill their list of prettiest aircraft.
Geeze, might as well include the Hindenburg!
Nice job, hotshot!

Wow, they're almost as cute as Knight's Messerschmitt Me 163's.
However, I do worry they might be eaten alive by these origami cranes---eh, I mean "Raptors" that my mom made:
By the way, that's not really my mom.

Yes you did ask for jet aircrafts, but I was referring to the topic, " Top 5 prettiest aircraft", hence why included the Spitfire.

Once again, see topic. Furthermore, I said "cutest aircrafts of all time"...therefore I can include the Me.

Wow those planes are amazing Leo! I had not even heard of the B1-B or Beachcraft. The latter looks especially pretty, and very unique in its design.

True, true. I think the mistake came from having two googled
images of the Concorde, one from France and one from the UK, and I
mixed the two up...
C'mon, we all know the perils of blogging!

My original intention was to include all aircraft. It was just
that I didn't think anyone would actually have that "I'll take a
classic car over a Ferrari anyday!" sensibilities when it came to
aircraft!
To each his own!

B1-B just missed my list, just as the Su-27 thru Su-37 series of
fighters did. They certainly would have made it, if it were a
military aircraft only list.

B1-B is like double our f-111, i always thought half a dozen or so would make a great replacement for our entire RAAF fleet. The beeachcraft is a late 80's early 90's expirement that never really took off. at the time the italians had a similar design, the
