I have suggestion.
Under the Asian Subcontinent heading.. it reads Indian subcontinent and South East Asia... I think this is a misnomer that we should all endeavour to correct.
Can you please change this to read history pertaining to South Asia, South Central Asia or something along that lines because there are many countries, groups in South Asia that are not necessarily 'Indian' eg. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, bhutan, etc..
Thanking you in advance
:)

You are absolutely right. Since we already have a seperate thread for the Southeast, a correction will be made.

thanks seko... :) I think many times people make incorrect assumptions when they generalize the entire region as being Indian due to their larger population while ignoring those of many other groups found in the area. This has unfortunately led to the paintaing of all peoples in the region under a single 'Indian' brush which is quite honestly inccorect and unfair. THere are many other groups in the region which do need to be properly identified and highlighted due to their uniqueness and distinctivesness which is something we should all cherish.
Cheers! :))

You know I have never even looked at that comment. Even when we were restructuring a couple of months ago

maybe cuz im new here, I picked it up :))
Ok thanks for the inclusion of South Central Asia there but that only covers Pakistan and Afghanistan.
What about other regions of the area. I was under the impression that the correct title was 'Asian Subcontinent' unless Im mistaken as this would be more inclusive and respectful to the nations of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh etc..
Also.. a little side note. With the recent inclusion of Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Greater Middle East, should these two countries still be listed here in the South Asian section???

Just a thought, I think the 'introduce yourself' topic is too hidden in sub forums for the new members to find it, and thus they will be less encouraged to post or feel like they can 'be accepted' in the community. The amount of posts to the introduce yourself topic has definitely lowered, and it shouldn't be like that. We need new members to keep the forum virile, as such, so maybe a greater effort to greet them...Thoughts?

Good point Dophin. Maybe a relocation for that thread would be better along with a nice and clean welcome mat.

You know, your star was extinguished light years ago. Only on rare occasions does one see a fading glimmer of what used to be an eruptive luminus ball of plasma. All I can see now is a black hole by the name of "White Dwarf rider".

I was thinking today about an artist section subforum (tavern maybe?) where people like J.P. Viera or other members could post there creations, there could maybe even a "Historical Artist of the Month" competition where users can compete for special signature banners like the Total Quiz. So what do ya'll think?

Sounds good Balaam. Do we have any other artists among us, other than JP? I must say that I find it great to see each person's visual representation of history, and we should encourage more historical art and illustration.

We hear you Dolphin. Slowing down would go easier on the eyes. Should have something done about that within the day.
Overall, I think the 10 pieces are a good idea. What do you think?
