They may be a "police unit", but the Viking Team are actually quite elite and well trained...and able to fulfill the role of Special Forces.

Now, to all those who think lowly of the Icelandic Military, think again:
The Cod Wars. Icelandic Coast Guard (plus fishing trawlers) vs. Royal Navy of Britain (plus fishing trawlers)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cod_War
Quite interesting actually. The Cod War of 1972 saw the invention the Icelandic Coast Guard's secret weapon - the net cutters.

That war is one of the reasons Iceland isn't a member of the EU till now.
Many icelanders have still reservations regarding certain EU Member-countries.

Iceland isn't a member of the EU and the war of cod is a reason you said,EU don't accepted Iceland for membership or Icelanders don't wanted
the membership.Which one is right?Embarrassed

Edit:I learnt that Iceland has never applied for EU membership.Smile

From time to time there were and there are ambitions of different Icelandic parties to push the pro-eu movement, but just as well the opponents of the EU are right in front of the door.
Optimistic voices in the Icelandic media evaluate the earliest possible date of entry in 2014.
