I just watched the start of Zimbabwes innings. I have to say I thought that Zim was well on its way to victory by the time that I stopped watching. Ireland must have staged a bit of a comeback.

I saw the last bit on the SBS news, and I must say Zimbabwe were crap, they could've gotten those last 10 runs easily not with 3 people getting out lol.
Who is that really fat guy on the Bermuda team? He really doesn't look like a cricket player.

Cricket confuses me. I think it's just baseball in two dimensions.

England and Australia victories. Although england really did win by half as much as it should've. But terrible news... Bob Woolmer died, and Inzamam annouced his retirement Oh and flintoff was rescued drunk after capsizing a boat... bad day

What a wonderful, strange and then terrible weekend at the world cup.
Wonderful (for me) when SA trashed the Netherlands on Friday (after the match eventually got started). Some world records taken after Gibbs smashed 6 sixes in one over, the first time in a world cup match, and $1 million for charity. Boucher scored the fastest 50 in ODI history.
Strange when Bangladesh got one over India, Ireland beat Pakistan and eliminated them from the world cup (throws all our predictions out) and then England got a big scare from Canada.
Terrible in the loss of Bob Woolmer. As the ex-coach to South Africa, he holds a special place in the hearts of SA cricket lovers. My condolences to his family and the Pakistani team.

Good scoring system Omar I'm hoping for an English win over the Kenyans... Also, anyone hear that investigators are now treating Woolmer's death as suspicious, possibly murder? It is everywhere in the papers and on the morning radio in Sydney. (well, at least this morning)

Yeah thats bad. Its really bad because there is a motive too. Pakistans defeat to Ireland. Some people get pretty worked up over Cricket. The Indian wicket keepers house got burnt down after they lost to Bangladesh, so I'm sort of worried that Woolmers death my not be as simple as Alcohol poisoning.

Some believe he was involved in an underground betting/gambling network, and I quote "maybe he was taken some dark secrets to the grave with him". I don't believe this to be very plausible but we shouldn't exclude it - assassination due to either not paying up or losing a hefty gamble...

Wow. Woolmer actually was murdered, its just been officially confirmed. He was strangled. This is really really bad. I didn't think this sort of drama would go on, such a tragic mess. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/6482981.stm
