Dont know, they have Israeil sabra and merkavas, as far as I know. Those patriots are from US, in Azerbaijan, not from Turkey.

^ does turkey actually have mekavas? ive never heard about that deal

There was issues with the isreali M60 'sabra' upgrades, i dont think turkey is upgrading the whole fleet.

yes. they bought some 298 second hand Leopard A4's. i suspect out of necessity, because Greece was  already starting to build its own fleet. Both countries have rather old tanks so even second hand leopard 2's would of simply dominated the others.

turkey is looking beyond the leopard for something more long term than a few hundred ex- European tanks.

I don't think that Turkey has Merkavas.
And about the Sabra, I think Turkey is upgrading about 170 M60s out of about 700.
Turkey has a plan of building (in Turkey) 1000 modern tanks. They were close to agreement with France for the Leclerc, but I don't know what happened in the end.

I read Turkey & Israel are jointly developing a new tank called the Sabra but I have no other info on the project and only some photos which I have not been able to authenticate.

I highly doubt the french can currently sell to the turks. There was a freeze in military relations last year (don't know if its changed), but i'll assume the chances are much smaller than before.

The Korean KA/A1 tank has been touted as a potential design.

The Sabra is a hell of allot better than the M60 but it isn't on the level to the newer designs. I think the cost were too high to upgrade the whole fleet, Janes reported 1 billion for the whole M60 fleet in Feb 2000. Since Turkey has a massive fleet of rather old tanks (M48), modernization is going to be very expensive and take some time.

They're being worked on in Turkey at Boeing's facility.
There will be 4 ready by 2008.
