I know the founder of this empire was a turk, but on internet I read that the empire was actually persian, look at what I found:
Origins The Empire
was founded by the Safavids, a Sufi order that goes back to Safi al-Din
1252-1334. Safi al-Din converted to Shiism and was a Persian
nationalist. The Safavid brotherhood was originally a religious group.
Is this correct?
Dadaloğlum bir gun kavga kurulur,
Oter tufek davlumbazlar vurulur,
Nice ko yiğitler yere serilir,
Olen lr kalan sağlar bizimdir!
It is but in a romantic way; exaggerated with nationalistic connotations.
Persian here means Iranian, since that is what the country was known as outside Iran, Ismail claimed paternal lineage from Mohamad and maternal from Sasanid Shahanshahs.
He certainly saw himself as the Shah of Iran and for sure he was fluent in a form of Turkish. His most loyal soldiers were teh qizilbash (red heads) because tehy wore red turbans on their heads.
