Welcome to our corner of cyber space. You'll find we have a couple of other folks who are into ancient weapons.

While I'm not a weapons expert, one of my interests is the smelting processes used in the manufacture of steel, and the handling of steel prior to 1850.

I just signed up but im very sleep deprived and just about to go to bed lol

I shall endeavour to post something worthwhile tomorrow or soon :)

It only recently occurred to me to join a history forum, so here I am. I'm very politically & psychologically-minded but until I started to learn more history I never truly understood much at all - I just thought I did.

Now I've read enough history to know two things: 1) sadly there's a thousand lifetime's worth of history to learn and 2) if every where of it could be trusted, there'd likely be no joy in it at all :)

I count myself as a philosopher first & foremost, but don't we all? Truly I'm a full-time autodidact; a very sick person who has a lot of time and tries to put it to good use by feeding his mind.

I hope to make some posts and ask some questions soon I'm always eager to fill in some of the blanks on things I'm interested in and so I hope to hear from some of you soon :)

I have been married twice for a total of 47 years. My second wife is a Tasmanian, aged 67. We’ve had one child: age 37. I have two step-children: ages: 48 and 43, three step-grandchildren, ages 19, 18 and 3, as well as one grandchild age 2. All of the above applies in January 2014. I am 69, am a Canadian who moved to Australia in 1971 and have written several books--all available on the internet.

I retired from full-time teaching in 1999, part-time teaching in 2003 and volunteer teaching/work in 2005 after 32 years in classrooms as a teacher and another 18 as a student. In addition, I have been a member of the Baha’i Faith for 53 years. Bio-data: 6ft, 235 lbs, eyes-brown/hair-grey, Caucasian.
