Are there any pictures of Pre-1900 era in the middle-east on the net? I wanna see how the Middle-east was before oil, many seem to believe they were living in caves if they didn't have oil (which is ignorant I know).

Places like Saudi-Arabia, Iraq/Syria/Kuwait before British colonialism etc
What buildings and living standards were like back then.

Thanks in advance.

Before WWI the Middle East belonged to the Ottoman Empire. Although I don't have any photos of the areas before WWI, these are some Ottoman-style houses built in the Anatolian area before WWI in the 19th century. Towns like these are being preserved by the government because of their historical values.
