I'm a 19 year old grad student of Iranian decent. History is a
relatively recent interest of mine, so a lot of the exchanges here are
way too "dense" for me, though I hope to eventually learn a thing or
two.

in all this time at AE I have realized I never posted my info, how sad I shall do so now. this is the only forum I really post in anyway so I might as well...
name:Chris, NOT Christopher, the full name sounds nerdy
places lived: Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusettes
Goes to Rutgers University (New Brunswick not the trashy newark campus!!!)
sophmore, history major, art minor, might also get another minor in African art
eras of history I know most about: Mongol Empire, Steppe, gunpowder era India, Tang dynasty China, colonial and revolutionary America, all of US history, European history fromt eh French revolution on, modern Japanese history, Native American history especially Olmecs and Mayans, ancient Egypt, medieval Italy, and early Islamic expansion.
eras of history I would like to know more about: Rome, ancient middle east, pre Han China, pre Norman britain, South East Asia, Iran at any time.
Politics (only a contradiction if you dont think about it) social radical, econimic archconservative, moderate foreign policy.
ethnic background: Irish, Japanese, Native American (mohawk) and a little English and German. Biggest one is Japanese though.
I tend to be OCD with my history intrests so it will be like one thing for a really long time then I will get sick of it and move on.
Current intrest: Victorian era
Past intrests: 1920's, samurai, Ottoman EMpire, Richard Nixon, Mongols, Khitans, Timurids, Koguryo kingdom, Phonecians, Venetians, US Civil war (gets lame fast as its the onyl history Americans are ever intrested in or know anything baout though) British Empire, and founding fathers of America
Heroes: Alexander Hamilton, Chinggis Khan, Tang Taizong, Oda Nobunaga, Mustapha Kemal, Teddy Roosevelt.
Objective: To be happy rather than be sucessful and to aide the fight against organized religion in politics around the world.

Hm....I"m gonna guess here....Tobo tell me how right I am.
Well..most white Americans have a bit of Native American in there, so
that's where the Mohawk comes from....and the English and the Germans
are historically two very big groups in the States...so that's not so
surprising...and the Japanese is probably Tobodai's white parent
marrying a Japanese parent...
THat's my guess...
