It is a requirement when a member makes a thread that they contribute
their own thoughts and ideas to the topic, we don't want simple
copy/paste threads.

In the absence of authors comment I'll make it for him.....
It's a very shameful list, that so called 1st world civilised countries like the US, Germany, France, Japan and Great Britain aren't civilised enough to have learnt anything from wwi and wwii.
It's equally shameful that 3rd world countries like, China, India, Turkey and Brazil prefered to waste money on pointless war toys than feed their populations.

Also, the top countries should be those with nukes. Rest assured, that
a country losing a war, has a nuclear weapon, it will use it...

The whole world would be against that country, Nuclear weapons are for cowards also.

There is a huge gap between #1 the United States and #2 Russia.
It should look something like this:
1. United States 2. __________ 3. __________ 4. __________ 5. __________ 6. __________ 7. __________ 8. Russia 9. China 10. India
I cannot image Russia going across the world and setting up military operations in two different countries while still maintaining a strong economy. I mean, geez. The United States has officially (or unofficially) occupied two nations without breaking an 'economic sweat' (we still not rationing items, no draft involved, etc...). It babbles some Americans that we are at war and it feels... so... normal.

Well a simple look at http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/index.html would show some of those top countries are big time paper tigers. It holds about the same amount of value as saying the Iraq army was 5th largest in the world before the wars.

America doesnt own europe. The fact that UK help them doesnt mean that USA control whole europe. That's ridiculous.
Russia has biggest nuclear arsenal and it is enough to level entire USA.

Firsy point is to Travis- are we thinking of the same India- the one where money might be better spent on food for their poor, education to destroy their caste system and education for those at the bottom. Go to an Indian city and walk an hour away from the city centre. Then tell me there arent poor, starving people there.
Second point to Olkiej. America in no way, shape or form dominates Europe. It is Europes favorite ally for reasons of strength, compatability of culture, links and common cause (either WW1, WW2, Communism or now the so called Islamic Terrorism). True the US sometimes gets away with stuff it shouldnt (the IRA for example, not one known IRA terrorist has yet been extradited to Britain) however how many countries followed the US into Iraq? Almost none from Europe and of those Britain is violently against it. The UK has a seperate foreign policy even if our Prime minisdter as a tendancy to back up (not be led like a poodle) American descisions.
Desimir, I believe that the US has the most nukes- provided you count operational ones that can be used. Both the US and Russia have enough nukes to level the world let alone each other.

Walking the streets of Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, a co-worker from Bolivia was amazed that the United States had 'poor people'. He thought everyone in America was wealthy.
Yes. We are talking about the one and the same; United States and India. When was the last time you read in the newspapers that there was an epidemic of starvation in these two countries? North Korea had two events in recent years and Africa?... Don't even go there.
