While the missile defense shield does inch a little bit to having a war. It is no way as close as war than say Able archer. If WW3 will happen its going to take a lot more events to spark it. Plus for it truly have to be a world war Iran would have to attack Israel, China attack Taiwan, and a possible invasion of South Korea by North Korea and China.

Now that the USA/Russian game has advanced to such a stage, I think it is time for the other players to show their intentions more clearly.

oh boy globalresearch.ca a heavily anti war/anti US site. I spent a few hours awhile back reading through their articles. The U.S. could be planting roses in Poland and it would be a lead up to war with those fear mongers. Apparently the enterprise is a nuclear battleship which they got straight from strafor another winner at fear mongering and missinformation. According to them we should of been nuking the planet every year for the last 10 years.

Everything becomes clear now, after the Georgian war.
Interesting game between USA/NATO and Russia we will be seeing from now on.
I wonder who will win.

Hey, this Russian-Georgian conflict led to even more pro-American attitude in Europe. Before that the missile defense shield deal in Poland was as good as frozen. So Americans only gained overall from that conflict.

Add new targets to its warplan. A misslile defence system is useless against the Russians, for many reasons, mainly since it would obviously be attacked as a part of a general strike.

I am curious as to what Russia will actually do in response to the missile defense system.

The Russians would be driven insane by the hopeless complexity of American politics....both outside and inside the Pentagon! None of them would survive the cocktail parties.

I assume you mean the Americans couldn't survive the Russian parties. Going on a understandably somewhat hazy memory of such things, the Russians would consider American parties just a snifter. |
No, I was thinking about the politics conducted at those cocktail parties. A couple of liters of raw vodka would be the Russian's refuge from such head-spinning insanity, especially in DC.

Well, that's relatively easy. China and the EU have no problem outbribing the Security Council. The US is too broke to compete[1] and Russia can't match either China or the EU with spending overseas, the regime isn't secure enough to do so.
[1] As was evident in the SC negotiations in the run-up to the Iraq war.
