You'll find this sort of thing all over the planet in many forms, probably all stemming from a very basic and crude fertility worship type thing.

This is in Iran correct???

Why haven't the Irani mullahs done anything about this yet?

No one answered my question!

Why haven't the Irani mullahs done anything about this yet?

Maybe because Turkmens live there!

What Cywr wrote. Somebody says that every kind of tower, pinnacle, obelisk and so derives from those ancient monuments to the human masculine organ.

I know what those are.  The Celts built similar, er, "monuments," in ancient Europe, and the Hindus venerate the "linga" as a symbol of Shiva's power to regenerate.  There are even a few in America, though your guess is as good as mine as to who built them.

Cyrus, are you sure these pictures come from Iran?  The source looks like a Turkmenistan website.  At any rate, I think it's safe to say the builders weren't Moslem, Christian, or even Zoroastrian.  If Turkmens built them, they must have done it before converting to Islam, which would make them at least a thousand years old.  If the builders were Medes or Persians, than I'll venture to say they're even older (2,600+ years?).
