Akritas "Tarkhan Uzlug Farabi" was a Turk from Turkestan.

I think your referring to "Ibn-Sina" he was Tajik-Iranic.
 
Both however, are more famous as "Islamic philosophers/scientists......"
 
I'd also nominate "Lagari Celebi", who conducted the first rocket powered flight in history.

No ; Al Farabi was also a TURKIC scientist . ( l dunno why Farsi people relate each of Scholars with themselves )
We 've also heard a hilarious word which implied Haci Bayram-i Veli 's ethnical origin was a Farsi . ( We just laugh @ such imaginary ideas )
 
Anyway ; IT IS , OF COURSE , AVICENNA - IBN-I SINA . ( Like you see in my avatar :) )
