I love Ms. Wilder's famous quote where she said, " I believe we would be happier to have a personal revolution in our individual lives and go back to simpler living and more direct thinking. It is the simple things of life that make living worth while, the sweet fundamental things such as love and duty, work and rest and living close to nature."
1952: Elizabeth II formally declared Queen and Head of the Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith. Queen Elizabeth II read: "By the sudden death of my dear father I am called to assume the duties and responsibilities of sovereignty." My heart is too full for me to say more to you today than I shall always work, as my father did throughout his reign, to advance the happiness and prosperity of my peoples, spread as they are all the world over."
2006 - Funeral of Coretta Scott King. Thousands of mourners waited this morning for one last chance to say goodbye to Coretta Scott King at a final viewing and then the funeral for the first lady of the civil rights movement.
