Soon the British will vote in referendum about leaving or staying in the European Union. I hope that they will stay, not because it is good or bad for the British but because without Britain there will be no balance in the Union. Without Britain European Union will change into German controlled federation.

I know that Spain and Poland populations are close, but seeing them like this. I am a little bit shock. Big smile

I hope Britain won't leave, but I don't like the EU idea in Britishs' minds (EU far from centralism)

On the other hand, this is not the end. Britain won't leave perminently. There will be some special partnership. It has some benefits,

EU don't want Turkey, so they can offer say partnership to Turkey. Turkey won't be upset and EU won't lose him.

Ukraine crisis began with EU supporters won the election. Russia is not big fun of  Ukrainians EU dream. This special partnership can offer Ukraine too. Of course Russia still won't be big supporter but at least Russia won't be negatory.

This partnership can offer Tunusia, Lebanon and Israel as well.

I support the British vision of the EU and Im completely against German-French vision of this institution.

The problem is that without Britain it will be impossible to stop farther federalisation of Europe.

Polish votes are important only when they can be combined together with the British votes. Poland is also able to gather some coalition of eastern European members of EU, but all those small eastern european states got so few votes that without Britain it will be not possible to stop the farther integration of the EU.

Countries like Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden almost always give full support to German ideas. Unfortunately France, Italy and Spain seems to be dominated by parties which are also controlled in the Europarliament by German centrists and socialists.

Without Britain it will be impossible to make any strong coalition which could have stop the followers of Merkel.

Russia wants to destroy EU because it is much easier for Russians to deal with the separate european countries than with the whole EU.

Without French-German coalition, what is EU?

Even Italy and Spain are just a pawn

This country mentality is reason of this shit. There shouldn't be Poland there should be People in Poland. Krakow population is more than Malta, but their voice doesn't reach the world. They can not be a head of EU. Country system is the reason of why EU looks like mtyhologic Hydra.

Without centrism EU always be easy bite for Russia

Why do you think that if we all will become one european nation, things will be better for us? What we do experience right now is nothing more but German hegemony over the continent. Merkel achieved success there, where Hitler failed. She isnt ruling just Germany, she is ruling the whole Europe while being chancellor of Germany. She is not a president of European Council, the man who is, is just her puppet. She is not a President of the European Commission, they guy who is, is also just her puppet. We dont even have a elections for neither President of the Comission nor the president of the Council. We dont even vote for the members of the Comission. Who is picking them? Chancellor of Germany. Can someone become the head of the comission or of the council without approval of Germany? Answer this question yourself. We didnt fight the bloody World War to surrender without the shot to the Germans and to be just tools in their politics which serve only their interests. As a Greek you should know somthing about the interests of German banks in your own country.

I think that Polish MEP profesor Ryszard Legutko told Merkel and Hollande just the whole truth:

All these are result of current country based administration system. Merkel or any country leader shouldn't be in EU meetings.

Without centraism, in country based system of course the country which has biggest population will be in charge.

As I said ,there should be Socialist, Greens, Christian Conservatives; not Germany, French, Poland in EU meetings.

They is leaving.

PM Cameron has resigned. I have to confess that I haven't been following this.
I assumed they would vote to stay. Apparently so did the majority of folks here.

The global markets are having a meltdown. The DOW is convulsing, at this writing it's down over 500 points.

The break up of the EU is being talked about, as well as the break up of the UK.
Scotland is calling for another referendum on independence.

The fallout from this can't be measured.
