The man in the top photo is wearing an Ottoman medal (possibly the High Order of Honor). Maybe Ollios will know?

About this photo, I can give just the names of Atatürk and İnönü. Sorry

the date can't be 1939 so it should be july 1934(Atatürk died in 1938). Maybe you know that,  Rezā Shāh was in Turkey between 22.06.1934-06.07.1934

and the guy behind you asked looks like same guy(with glasses) with this photo


If these were same guys, it means Iranians wore millitary uniforms and gallibolu star has real star's shape. I can't see similar medal on that man(who you asked)so I guess, your guy was Iranian



I think same place(look at lumbs): Çankaya Köşkü (the official residence of the President of Turkey), but date is 16 june 1934(accoding to website)

Here's what we know about this mystery man: he's a general who fought in WWI and is a close friend of Inonnu. I don't think his medal is the Gallipoli Star (depicted above) as it has more than five points

By the way he was a General and he did receive the Gallipoli star (whether or not it is the one in the photo I am not sure) He also represented Iran at Ataturks Funeral. His son was also a very close friend of Ismet Inonu

It's really difficult as i know almost nothing about modern Turkish and Iranian history. Did this man eventually become president or prime minister of Turkey?

This is a long shot, but is he Fazlollah Zahedi? He was a general during WWII who replaced Mossadegh as Prime Minister of Iran

No this is not Fazlollah Zahedi or any conspiracy. The man is called General Coupal (or Kupal, there are various spellings). I just wondered if anyone had any information on him
