Hi,

This object with St Edward's crown was found in the Netherlands, by a metal detectorist.

Any idea ? There's reason to believe there was English military presence in ca 1780 but we are not sure, nor are we experts. Is this an emblem ? how was it used ?

Many thanks for any comments !

Hi,

More data from the person who found it.. I have to translate this and I'm not a savant on the subject, so excuse me if it is unclear,

''Near Oosterhout (NB), there were battlegrounds end 18th century. I found some 40 canonballs and morter bullets, some 50kg in total. I've also found a button with 3 canons, but I lost that.''

(NB) denotes the North Brabant region in The Netherlands.

That´s it.. Thanks for any reply that sheds a light on this !

:)
