That's a diffiicult one. I'm tempted to say greed, power hunger, jealousy, but then I could add moral, social and religious systems man is born within and educated within, so socially conditioned.

However really I will have to attack the question. There is no one thing. Also just as 2 + 2 = 4 when you are power mad + jealous you get some new a combination of the two. So if you add all the contributing factors together that drives one person you get a large number, for another person this would be a different number.

I really liked your perspective on it.
As a matter of fact different combinations of the feelings and the one`s mental calculations(under the rules of doctrines or beliefs) to get more benefit for him/herself now or hereafter(except alturism) result in a different identity.I aggree with you,BUT I think if all the resources were infinite, there would still be struggles among us. So the potential feelings are sometimes triggered unreasonably .It is impossible to control all the interior and exterior factors for each individual or each group of people(because sometimes it is easy for mankind to be provoked to behave as a whole) to reveal the reality by experimentation ethologially for human being. However it is possible for one to discover physical and spirutual features behind his/her attitudes by some disciplinary limitations voluntarily.I meant that most of the people around the world do not know how they could discover their weakness and power, and how to control those. That it is our nature to fight with eachother and some moral or secular standards of behaviour have been proposed up to the present.
Now I am asking another question
What makes a person to be disciplined or controlled in a better manner? Can you tell me the best way of controlling individuals or groups for a best society?
Why should I seek? I am the same as
He. His essence speaks through me.

I would say it is tribalism. It originated probably from the time mankind competed for the scarce resources.
It was rationalized trough religion, nationalism, ideology but it is always us vs. them

Doing the "good thing". Every person throughout mankind's conflicts tried to achieve what they thought was the right thing to do. There is no such thing as an "evil" person because they are doing what they believe is right.
What is the officer problem?

This is a dangerous belief. We can differentiate between right and wrong. Socrates and Aristotle formulated  idea of ethics.
