Mt.Vesuvius has a bad reputation on its hand. Its been 2000 years since the last cyroplastic flow explosion. Guess what.... the next is do. Do u think it will happen and if so why are people so unintelligent to live there? Also how powerful would the euroption be? To me i think it'll be bigger than ever its rested for way longer and its pumped.

Lands around volcanos are exeptionably fertile, that's why many populations gather around it.
As for the next eruption, I just hope it doesn't kill anyone. And if it does, be it few.

This one is much more dangerous and I would not want to be in the Seattle area when it explodes!!!

I recently saw a special on Vesuvius, regarding the super eruption which destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum.  Crazy noxious gas which would boil your brain and vaporize you all at once--nasty in the extreme.

I understand that the Italian government is giving money to people as an incentive to leave the area.

I'll hit on the head that it resounds in his heart."

The eruption which destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum was a super eruption and one of the largest we know of.   I saw a special on Mt. Vesuvius and it showed where folks whose homes were destroyed in the small eruption in the 1940's returned as soon as it was safe and built their homes right on top of the lava flow.  They explained that it was 'home'.

Here's a link to an article that I wrote on the events of 70 CE based on Pliny's account.
