Well the fact is that there were no Eastern Gk Trk invasions into Soghdiana at 707  Kafesolu says Grousset mis-understood that information while using an Arabic source. The "Turkish prince" that got defeated by Qutaiba at that year must have been a Transoxianian Western Gk Trk city-state prince or an On Oq prince (most probably from the Trgish tribe, the strongest of On Oq).
