It may sound silly but what is the main difference between the Turk and Indo-european gens? How much are they common and how far ago do they divide?

I didn't even know they had anything in common. What's sure is that, the IndoEuropeans arrived in Europe itself around 9th century BC. What's even more sure is that they reunited later on in Turkey.

Ultimately, the question being, did the IndoEuropean existed at all?

well, IE genes are very divergent themselves and Turkic genes are divergent also so your question cant really be answered sorry.

IE is a language group

Turkic is a language.

Both are humans, they just speak different languages, there can be similarities and differences based upon geographical location, mixing, living in close proximity to each other, conquering and being ruled by one another etc etc.

True, i should say genes carried by IE speakers are very divergent and genes carried by Turkic speakers are very divergent too.  The gist still being the same.
